Eight kitchen companies that have a showroom in Cardiff come up again and again when people ask who to use.
In alphabetical order they are Dream Doors Cardiff, German Kitchens Cardiff, Keller Kitchens Cardiff, Kitchens by Avantgarde, Kutchenhaus Cardiff, Magnet, Sigma 3 Kitchens and Wren Kitchens.
They range from national chains with online price estimators (Wren and Magnet), to a Welsh manufacturer with its own factories (Sigma 3), German kitchen specialists (German Kitchens Cardiff and Kutchenhaus), a Dutch kitchen specialist (Keller), an independent family firm (Avantgarde) and a kitchen makeover service (Dream Doors). Which one is best for you depends on your budget, how quickly you need it and whether you want a new kitchen or a facelift. - Quality of the product. Who makes the furniture and where.
- Design capability. Whether you get a designer, whether you can see your kitchen in 3D or VR before you spend anything, and whether someone measures your room properly.
- Installation. Who turns up to fit it, and who’s responsible if something isn’t right.
- Price transparency. Whether you can find out roughly what you’ll pay without sitting through a sales appointment first.
- Aftercare and guarantees. What’s promised in writing, and for how long.
What matters in Cardiff and South Wales
Ask a hundred people what went right or wrong with their kitchen and the same things come up. So those are the things measured here.
- A showroom you can get to. City centre, retail park or suburb makes a real difference if you’re driving in from Penarth, Pontypridd or Newport with the kids in the back. Sunday opening matters too if you work Saturdays.
- How long they’ve been here. A company with years in Cardiff has local customers you can ask.
- Whether they’ll come to you. Cardiff companies don’t all cover the Vale, the Valleys, Bridgend or the other side of the bridge.

4. The eight companies, one by one
Dream Doors Cardiff
Dream Doors is a kitchen makeover franchise with more than 90 UK locations. The Cardiff branch is locally owned, opened in 2012 and has a showroom at 146 Whitchurch Road. Its main service is replacing doors, drawer fronts and worktops on your existing cabinets, which it says costs up to 50% less than a new fitted kitchen. It also offers fully fitted kitchens.
You get a free home survey and design consultation, and the work is fitted by what the company calls local professionals, in as little as two to three days. The Cardiff branch scores 10/10 on Checkatrade from 449 reviews and has been a member since January 2012. Prices, product guarantees and order lead times aren’t published. It covers all CF postcodes, including Penarth, Barry, Caerphilly, Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil.
German Kitchens Cardiff (That’s Us)
German Kitchens Cardiff is an independent showroom at Radyr Court Precinct in Llandaff, selling German kitchens from Nobilia, Schüller and next125, with BORA, AEG and Quooker appliances and Dekton worktops. The company was set up in 2023, and its directors have been designing kitchens in Cardiff since 2013.
You get a free design service with one designer from first sketch to handover, 3D drawings and a VR headset presentation. Kitchens are fitted by the company’s own employed fitting teams. Prices are published: from £12,000 supply only and from £15,000 supplied and fitted, and previous projects have ranged up to around £100,000, and there’s an online price estimator.
There’s a 5-year guarantee on furniture, which covers both the parts and the labour to fit them, and a 2-year guarantee on workmanship.
It’s a BORA approved dealer, an AEG Premier Partner and a Cosentino Elite showroom.
The company’s Google rating is 4.5 from 44 reviews and it covers Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan, Newport, Bridgend, Caerphilly and wider South Wales, plus Bristol, South West England and a good proportion of the M4 corridor.
Keller Kitchens Cardiff
Keller Kitchens Cardiff (also listed as Keller Design Centre Cardiff) is an independent showroom at 294 Whitchurch Road. Its website says it has been established for nearly 30 years, was the first Keller showroom in Wales and is the longest-serving Keller dealer in the UK. Keller kitchens are rigid-built in the Netherlands, with a true handleless range, special-sized units and up to 2,000 colours.
You get a personal designer, a 3D walk-through of your design and a site survey, followed by delivery and installation. It has a 5.0 Google rating from 6 reviews. It’s a NEFF Five Star Master Partner and also lists Bosch, Quooker, Franke and Blanco. The showroom is open Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 4pm, and Saturdays by appointment. Prices, guarantees, areas covered and lead times aren’t published.
Kitchens by Avantgarde
Kitchens by Avantgarde (Avantgarde Designs Limited) is an independent, family-run company established in Cardiff in 2005. Its showroom is at Gripoly Mills on Sloper Road. Symphony lists it as a retailer, with the Gallery, Linear and Urbano ranges on display.
The company offers a free design consultation and installation, and describes itself as award winning with more than 60 years’ combined experience, although the award isn’t named on its website. It has a 4.6 Google rating from 14 reviews. The showroom is open Monday to Saturday, and Sundays by appointment. Prices, guarantees, areas covered and lead times aren’t published.
Kutchenhaus Cardiff
Kutchenhaus is the UK retail brand for Nobilia, Europe’s largest kitchen manufacturer, with around 100 showrooms, each owned by an individual business owner. The Cardiff showroom opened in Queens Arcade in 2018 and moved to a larger unit in the same arcade in 2023. It has the same owner as Kutchenhaus Swansea.
You get a free design appointment in store or online, a 3D planner and a home measure, and the company says kitchens are delivered and installed by a professional team. There’s a 10-year warranty on kitchen furniture, and delivery takes 4 to 12 weeks from payment. Nationally, Kutchenhaus scores 4.7 on Trustpilot from 2,579 reviews. The Cardiff showroom has 5.0 on Houzz from 7 reviews and Best of Houzz Service badges for 2021 and 2022. Prices and areas covered aren’t published.
Magnet (Newport Road)
Magnet was founded in Yorkshire in 1918 and is a national chain with more than 150 showrooms. The Cardiff showroom is at Avenue Retail Park on Newport Road and is open seven days a week. Cabinets are pre-built at Magnet’s own factory in Darlington.
You get a free design appointment in store or online with a dedicated designer and a 3D design. Fitting is by Magnet’s installers, who are DBS checked and insured, or you can use your own fitter or buy supply only. “From” prices are published for each range and there’s an online cost calculator. Pre-built cabinets are guaranteed for life and Magnet installation for two years. Magnet says the delivery and installation stage usually takes two to four months. It scores 4.5 on Trustpilot nationally from 13,988 reviews, holds FIRA Gold accreditation and was named Retailer of the Year at the Ideal Home Awards 2026.
Sigma 3 Kitchens
Sigma 3 is a family-run Welsh company that started in a barn in Barry in 1975. It makes its own kitchens in factories in Llantrisant and Bridgend and delivers them fully assembled. It has seven showrooms, two of them in Cardiff: Cowbridge Road West at Culverhouse Cross, and Colchester Avenue. Both are open seven days a week.
You get a free design service with a 3D design and a home measure. Fitting is by Sigma 3’s recommended fitters, overseen by a dedicated Installation Manager, or you can use your own fitter. Prices are published: from £15,000 for 8 to 12 units. Cabinets are guaranteed for 10 years, doors and panels for 3 years, and Blum hinges and runners for life. Sigma 3 scores 4.9 on Trustpilot from 2,676 reviews across all its showrooms, and it’s a NEFF Master Partner. Lead times aren’t published.
Wren Kitchens (Cardiff Gate)
Wren is a national chain with 129 showrooms, and makes most of its kitchen components at its own factory in North Lincolnshire. The Cardiff showroom is at Cardiff Gate Retail Park and is open seven days a week. It reopened in December 2021 after a £1 million refit with 74 kitchen displays.
You get free design appointments in store, at home or online, with 3D plans and VR headsets. Fitting is by Wren-approved installers, or you can fit it yourself or buy supply only. Prices are shown by range and there’s an online price estimator. Standard delivery is from 7 working days for the Vogue, Infinity and EasyFit ranges, and from 28 working days for Infinity Plus. Guarantees run to 15, 20 or 25 years depending on the range, with 5 years on approved installation. Wren scores 4.4 on Trustpilot nationally from 102,044 reviews, holds FIRA Gold for both product and installation, and is a member of The Furniture Ombudsman.
5. Also worth knowing about, just outside Cardiff
Adam Elliot
Adam Elliot often gets mentioned alongside Cardiff kitchen companies, but it’s based at Vale Business Park near Cowbridge, so it isn’t in the table. It’s an independent maker of bespoke, handmade kitchens and furniture, incorporated in 2014, and everything is made in its own workshop and fitted by its installers with a hand-painted finish. It scores 4.3 on Trustpilot from 7 reviews (all seven are 5-star), 5.0 on Houzz from 2 and 5.0 on Yell from 5. It covers Cardiff, Bridgend and wider South Wales. Prices, guarantees and lead times aren’t published.
6. How to choose between them
No single company on this list is the right one for everybody. Here’s how the facts above line up with what you might be after.
If you want to keep your cabinets and change the look
Dream Doors is the only company here built around makeovers. If your units are sound and the layout works, it’s the obvious first call.
If you want a rough price tonight, from the sofa
Wren, Magnet and German Kitchens Cardiff have online price estimators. Sigma 3 publishes starting prices. With the others you’ll need to ring or visit.
If your budget is under £15,000 fitted
Look at Wren and Magnet, whose published prices start well below that, or a Dream Doors makeover. Sigma 3 and German Kitchens Cardiff both start at £15,000, so they’re unlikely to be the right fit.
If where it’s made matters to you
For Welsh-made, it’s Sigma 3. For German-made, it’s German Kitchens Cardiff (Nobilia, Schüller and next125) or Kutchenhaus (Nobilia). For Dutch-made, it’s Keller. Magnet and Wren both make their own in England.
If you’re up against a deadline
Go by published lead times. Wren is the quickest, with delivery from 7 working days on most ranges and from 28 working days for Infinity Plus. German Kitchens Cardiff quotes 4 to 6 weeks for Nobilia and 8 to 10 for Schüller, Kutchenhaus 4 to 12 weeks, and Magnet two to four months for delivery and installation. Whoever you shortlist, ask these five questions
- Who will actually fit my kitchen, and are they employed by you?
- What’s guaranteed, for how long, and can I have that in writing? A longer guarantee isn’t automatically a better one, so ask what’s covered, whether labour is included after the first year and whether it transfers if you sell the house.
- What isn’t included in this quote? (Think electrics, plastering, flooring, waste removal.)
- What’s the lead time from the day I pay my deposit?
- Can I speak to a customer near me whose kitchen you fitted in the last year?
Then visit at least three showrooms. Open the drawers, lean on the worktops and see who listens to how you live before they start drawing. You’ll know fairly quickly who you’re comfortable with.

Are German kitchens worth the extra cost?
It depends what you’re comparing. A German kitchen usually costs more than the entry ranges at a national chain. At German Kitchens Cardiff, a supplied and fitted kitchen starts at £15,000, while Wren and Magnet publish prices well below that. It isn’t always dearer than British-made, though: Sigma 3’s Welsh-made kitchens also start at £15,000. German kitchens are made to order and arrive factory-assembled, with a wide choice of unit sizes and finishes. Whether that’s worth it to you comes down to how long you’ll stay in the house, how hard the kitchen gets worked and how much the design matters. The best test is to open a few drawers in a few showrooms and compare the written guarantees side by side.
Should I use a national chain or a local independent in Cardiff?
Both have facts in their favour. The national chains in Cardiff (Wren and Magnet) have seven-day opening, online price estimators, lower starting prices and tens of thousands of reviews. Wren and Magnet publish lower starting prices and have online estimators. Dream Doors says a makeover costs up to 50% less than a new fitted kitchen. Keller, Kutchenhaus and Avantgarde don’t publish prices.
How long does it take to get a new kitchen in Cardiff?
Published lead times vary a lot. Wren’s standard delivery times start from 7 working days for its Vogue, Infinity and EasyFit kitchens, and from 28 working days for Infinity Plus. German Kitchens Cardiff quotes 4 to 6 weeks for Nobilia and 8 to 10 weeks for Schüller. Kutchenhaus says 4 to 12 weeks from payment. Magnet says delivery and installation usually takes two to four months. The others don’t publish a lead time. On top of that, Magnet and German Kitchens Cardiff both say fitting a new kitchen takes one to two weeks, and Dream Doors says a makeover takes as little as two to three days.
Which Cardiff kitchen companies use their own fitters?
German Kitchens Cardiff fits with its own employed teams. Magnet uses Magnet installers, Wren uses Wren-approved installers and Sigma 3 uses recommended fitters overseen by an Installation Manager. All three will also let you use your own fitter. Dream Doors, Keller, Kutchenhaus and Avantgarde all offer installation, but don’t publish whether their fitters are employed or subcontracted, so it’s worth asking.
