The BIG Question?

If you’re planning on updating your kitchen, one question that is likely to be top of your list is “How Much Will it Cost?”

If you’ve pitched this question to a kitchen designer or sales person then, chances are, you’ve heard answers like “How long is a piece of string?” or “How much do you want to spend?” (They just love answering questions with questions don’t they?)

Well.. The answer to your question “How much will it cost?” is…….(Drum roll)………. It Depends!

The cost of a German Kitchen really does depend on lots of factors which can change the price of your kitchen drastically… Factors such as the size of your room, the range of doors you choose, do you want laminate worktops or a solid surface such as quartz or Corian, do you need your fridge, oven and dishwasher to talk to each other or are you happy with entry level appliances? (Personally I don’t like the idea of my white goods talking about me behind my back… but that’s just me!)

All that said, I’m going to try and guide you through the quagmire that is Kitchen Pricing… Specifically Schüller kitchens as that is my area of expertise. This should hopefully give you a really good idea how much you can expect to pay for the German Kitchen of your dreams…

German Kitchen - L Shaped Cardiff

German Kitchen with Peninsula Cardiff

German Kitchen with Island Cardiff

So, How Much Does a Schüller Kitchen Cost?

Kitchens come in many shapes and sizes but for this exercise I’m going to concentrate on the three of the most common layout configurations. These are the ‘L’ shape, the ‘G’ shape with a peninsula and the ‘L’ shape with a separate island. Whatever shape your kitchen is you should be able to relate to one of these layouts in terms of size of your room and types of units used.

For each layout I’ll show how different options such as worktops and appliances can affect the cost of your project to hopefully give you a clear idea of how much you can expect to pay for your Complete Schüller Kitchen.

In Conclusion

The Importance of Knowing Your Budget

As you can see, changing worktops, appliances and door range can make a big difference to the price of your kitchen. Even though the design has stayed the same, in the case of the ‘L’ shape kitchen, changing the appliances, worktops and door range has almost doubled the cost of the kitchen.

There are, of course, many door, worktop and appliance options in between these extremes which is why it’s super important that you let your designer know how much you want to spend on your kitchen so that they can advise you on what options are the best fit for your budget.

Don’t Just Take Our Word For It…

Here’s What Our Clients Thought of Their Artisan Design Experience

“Fun, Friendly and Professional”

During Nick and Elisabeth’s Design Consultation, we chatted to understand their lifestyle and how they use their kitchen. Elisabeth’s a keen cook of French cuisine so it was essential that she had an ergonomically designed cooking area. They loved bold colours and wanted our designer to create something unique and functional.

“The right solution was suggested and it made it really stress-free”

When we first met Helen and Rob, they were unsure whether to install their new kitchen into the larger adjacent room or keep it where it was. We designed two options for them so they could make an informed choice and we visited their home to help them with their decision.

Helen and Rob were ecstatic with the end result, watch the video to hear what they had to say.

“They gave us confidence in the minefield of designing a kitchen”

When Steve was planning his kitchen renovation, he visited other showrooms to be sure he was investing his time and money in the right product and company. He says that the quality of our kitchens were superior and that we stood out to him because of our product knowledge and  design ideas for alternative layouts and colours.

Steve reviewed our free design service…take a look at the video to hear what he said.
